# PickFromHat

> Free random tools that run entirely in the browser: a spinning wheel and a name picker with groups and teams, in German and Spanish. No account, no download, nothing sent to a server.

How the tools work:

- Every pick uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with rejection sampling, so every entry has the same chance (no modulo bias). The wheel draws the result first; the spin only shows it.
- Lists: one entry per line, up to 200 entries; a column or row pasted from Excel or Google Sheets works; duplicates count as separate entries (a simple way to give an entry more weight).
- Wheel: optional title above the wheel, remove the drawn entry after each spin (or remove one result by hand) and put all back, a list of everything drawn with a pairs view (draws 1 + 2, 3 + 4 ...), fullscreen, the space bar spins, no sound, no animation when the system asks for reduced motion.
- Name picker: draw N names in order, with or without repeats, or deal the whole list into N groups or into groups of at most K people (sizes differ by at most one).
- Sharing: the list and the settings are kept in the part of the address after "#", which browsers never send to the server; the last list is also remembered in the browser (localStorage).
